Projector Globe
So we had a few people over for the AFL Grand Final on the weekend, watching the big game on the projector (Mitsubishi HC4900 Full HD LCD), few beers, some good eats and fun times. My projector has been flashing the lamp warning for some time now and thankfully survived the duration of the game and also for a few hours afterwards. On Sunday I went to switch it on to play a little bit of COD4 (PS3) and was confronted with all sorts of blinking lights and a non-working projector. I consulted the troubleshooting guide in the handbook and deciphered the flashing lights to mean that the lamp had expired and I need a new one. Someone sent me this site a while back (thanks Gary) which searches Japanese sites and finds the cheapest price for these types of things (for a 5% fee). I know from a quote about 4 months ago that a lamp for this model ex-Aust retailers is around the AU$700 mark, the magical Price Japan have it delivered to my door for AU$427 including a 3.5% Visa surcharge.
